Anthony "Tony" J. Ferry, Jr., age 93, lifelong resident of Watkins Glen, NY recently of Oak Hill Manor, Ithaca passed away on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021. Tony was born in Montour Falls, NY on September 14, 1927, the son of the late Anthony J. and Nellie A. Specchio Ferry, Sr. Tony attended photography school in New York City following graduation from high school. He was a self-employed professional photographer for over 60 years. During his career as a photographer, Tony, had photographed many weddings, high school photos, and generational photos. Tony had also worked as a photographer for the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office and for the Watkins Glen Fire Dept. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen and was an avid NY Yankees and Syracuse Orangeman fan. Tony never knew a stranger and loved to talk to all he met. Tony is survived by his niece, Joyce A. Ferry of Willseyville, NY and very special cousin, Joseph J. Orbin; as well as, many other cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Anthony J. and Nellie A. Specchio Ferry Sr., Tony was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Frederick L. and Viola Ferry Sr.; nephew, Frederick L. Ferry Jr.; and grandparents, Antonio and Julietta Specchio. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Haughey-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 119 5th St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891. His Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Watkins Glen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Tony's name to the Humane Society of Schuyler County, 124 Marina St., Montour Falls, NY 14865 or to the Restoration Fund at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, PO Box 289, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
