Obituary of Dominick A. Schimizzi

Dominick "Primo" A. Schimizzi Sr., age 86, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away Friday, December 24th, 2021 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. Primo was born on July 14th, 1935 in Montour Falls, NY (known as the 1935 Flood Baby) to the late, Dominic and Concetta (Timpani) Schimizzi. He served in the US Army until returning home to care for his mother. He had worked as a salesman for Metropolitan Life, Suburban Propane and Triple S Blue Stamps. He also worked for Central Asphalt and Suit-Kote. Primo is survived by his sons; Dominick "Buddy" A. (Barbara) Schimizzi Jr. and Donald J. (Pamela) Schimizzi; grandchildren, Maxwell, Alex, Anthony (Meg) and Kyle (Diana) Schimizzi; great grandchildren, Zoe, Enzo and Niko; sisters, Mary Rose Eschler, Catherine Discenza and Josephine Barnes; sister-in-law, Nancy Fazzary; as well as, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Primo was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Carol E. Schimizzi in 2011; son, David J. Schimizzi in 2016; brother, Anthony "Murph" Schimizzi; brothers-in-law; Richard Eschler, Joseph Discenza, Harold Barnes, and Dominick "Art" Fazzary; and sister-in-law, Nona Burnett Schimizzi. Services will be held at the convenience of his family.
