Condolences
I am so very sorry! Our families were neighbors. She was always a smart, sweet kind person. I am so sorry for your loss!

I remember Diana was my first friend when I started teaching at Watkins Glen. We would walk to her mother's house every conference day and have lunch together. We also made jams and jellies together during summers. But best of all were solving world problems together in the hallway as classes passed. I will always treasure those memories.
I was a member of Music of the Lord when we lived near Watkins Glen and I served as Schuyler County 4-H Agent. St. Mary.'s of the lake was a big part of our families life. The experience of singing in the choir was one of the things I hold so dearly as one of the best parts of my life ever. Diana and Penny made the group what it is. It was a great group of christian people who loved the Lord, loved to sing and haveq8qey fun.
My condolences for your loss. I am sure she will be a welcome addition to the heavenly choir.
Diana Groll was not only a beautiful person but an amazing music teacher! All three of my daughters had the privilege of being taught by her. She made music fun for the kids. As a musician myself, I so appreciated what she taught my children in the little time she spent with them each week. I remember her voice. It was kind, gentle and caring. I am praying God's comfort on you, her beloved family during this time of grief.
Mrs. Groll treated me with such genuine kindness during my time in high school band, and I am forever grateful. It’s hard to articulate how much she impacted my life in a positive way, and I’m sure many others feel the same. She will be greatly missed.
Dear Bob and family,
The Notre Dame Retreat House Men's group of St. Mary's Watkins Glen are all saddened by the news of Diana's passing. There will be a Mass said in her honor and for your family at the Notre Dame Retreat Chapel. The Men of St. Mary's will pray for you this weekend at our retreat. God Bless

I’m so sorry to see this. I have so many memories connected with Mrs. Groll- the mundane and regular days where we would yell the B-A-N-D cheer mid-class and she would roll her eyes and laugh and get us back to work. Being in band on 9/11 and feeling so lost but still playing music. ALL of the awesome John Williams songs and my favorites, the Spring Pops songs. Her willingness to let us try new things like creating a brass quintet with Mr. K from Physics. Jamming in jazz band. Her support when I did NYSSMA and auditioned for area all state. Always, her love for her daughters! 20 years later and band still holds some of my favorite memories from WGHS. She will be missed.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to Diana's family. Diana and I have known each other from when we were kids in college. Whether it was sharing the concert stage, sewing tips or life adventures, it is our friendship that is one of my most treasured blessings. Thank you for such a beautiful and loving tribute to amazing Diana. May sharing your love and stories be a comfort to you all.
Diana was first chair Clarinet and I was second in Middle School band, led by our very special band director Ed Lindsay. Diana went on to do great things surrounding herself with music . Diana was sweet, smart and talented, Rest peacefully Diana, surrounded by the music of the Angels.
Diana and I graduated together. She was always very kind and soft-spoken, and I remember she was an amazing clarinet player. We were more acquaintances back in high school than friends, but always friendly. It wasn’t until I moved back to WG & joined the choir that I truly got to know Diana. She was a beautiful soul who gave so much of herself—not only to her musical
Ministry, but her students, community and family. I feel blessed to have gotten to know her in our adult years. My heart and prayers are with you Bob, Megan and Elise as well as her extended family. God Bless and comfort each of you.
My deepest sympathies condolences to you, Bob and to Megan and Elise. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Peace and Blessings. Fr. Paul Bonacci
Bob,

Very very sad to learn of Diana's passing. As a colleague at Watkins Glen High School for 15 years and a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Church I saw - first hand - her talent, energy & enthusiasm as she worked to bring out the very best in her students and choir members. We also lived next-door to each other for many years and you couldn't ask for a better neighbor. Our sincere condolences to Bob, Megan & Elise and family. Diana and you all will be in our thoughts and in our prayers!

Schuyler County Habitat for Humanity mourns the loss of Diana. She was a faithful supporter and with her husband, Bob, has made Habitat for Humanity possible in Schuyler County. May she rest in peace.
Bob and family, I am so taken back to hear of Diana’s passing. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I know you must be so devastated, find comfort in your memories until you meet again. I’m holding you in my thoughts. ❤️
I met Diana in 1982 when I joined St. Mary's of the Lake church and chior. It was always heart warming to stand and see her directing during our child events. We also became friends. She supported me when I got a job at Romulus Central School. I enjoyed many band concerts and pageants at the school. She was a dear friend. We recently reconnected and she was so looking forward to the many blessed events in her family. Love you my friend, you shall be missed.
I have absolutely no musical talent, seriously none. But she was patient with me and my horrible abilities, never got mad at me or anything. Always appreciated it.
I graduated 1991 w/ a 5 year Music major with WGGS chorus 4 years and Mrs Grill's music class. Mrs Groll was an amazingusic teacher and we learned theory and writing and even video production. She may have been small but she was fierce.
She will be missed

Diana has been a positive influence and friend for many years. I am grateful to her support and leadership in the Music of the Lord choir.
Diane gave her talents and her spirit to her family, community and to many young people who are better for her gifts.
