Martha Jennings Payne, age 89, of Mt. Pleasant, TN, passed away on March 4th, 2022. Martha was born December 12, 1932, the daughter of Leon Jennings & Emma May Jennings of Watkins Glen, NY. She followed and served with her husband as an Air Force wife for 20 years. Then settled back in Watkins Glen to raise their family. She co-owned a Ceramic shop in Watkins Glen with her lifetime friend Christine Cosgrove. She is survived by, son Rob (Janice) Payne of Chattanooga, TN, and son Jim (Christy) Payne of Williamsport, TN. Daughter-in-law Roxanna Payne, Richmond, VA. Grandchildren, Jessica Parnell (Cory), Aaron Payne, Kathleen Payne, and Lacey Payne. And great-grandson Braden Parnell. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Payne, son Donald Payne, grandson Ryan Payne and her parents Leon and Emma Jennings. Her brothers Earl and Eugene Jennings and sister Phyllis Jennings Chrisman Buck. Friends and family may call from 12 noon to 2 pm on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 at Haughey Wood & Zinger Funeral Home. Her Funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
