Obituary of Brian Linwood DeHond

Brian Linwood DeHond December 9, 1951 – May 22, 2022 After a long struggle with cancer and diabetes, Brian Linwood DeHond, 70, of Montour Falls,New York, passed away on May 22, 2022 at the Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Misty Glen). Brian was born in Williamson NY to Linwood DeHond and Jeannette P. DeHond on December 9, 1951. In 1970 he graduated from Bloomfield High School. He also studied at Monroe Community College. For over 10 years, prior to his retirement, Brian was a Medical Office Assistant for Lourdes Family Practice in Owego New York. He was a remarkable guitar player, even taking time to teach guitar techniques to some high school students. Brian is survived by his companion Bonnie A. Romeo of Montour Falls New York, daughter Kimberly (Michael) McCarthy of N. Fort Myers Florida, sons Jesse (Marisa) of Tampa Florida, and Garrett (Ha-Young Park) of Seoul South Korea, brothers Bruce (Marie) of Rush New York and David (Lori) of Dillsburg Pennsylvania. In addition, Brian is survived by his aunt, Carol P. Franzese and numerous cousins. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Aidan McCarthy, Isabella and Alyssa DeHond, and Leon Park DeHond. Brian is also survived by his friend of many years, James Strauss of Rochester New York. Brian was predeceased by his parents. Burial will be on Thursday, June 2, at noon at Holy Cross Cemetery on Route 14 in Watkins Glen New York. Haughey-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home will be handling funeral arrangements.
