Obituary of Modestina "Molly" Richardson

Modestina "Molly" Richardson, age 95, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY. Molly was born on September 1, 1926 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Spallone. Molly was an administrative assistant for Westinghouse in Horseheads, NY and was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen, NY. She was a very strong individual, overcoming the loss of her husband and son and her own chronic illness. Molly was devoted to her family. Molly is survived by her special daughter-in-law who provided her with immeasurable love and care, Jayne Richardson; grandchildren, Valerie Jayne Richardson (Michael) and Casey Taminchi (Juan Carlos); great grandchildren, Hadley and Camilla Martin; and many nieces and nephews, Tom Richardson, Dini Perry, Richard (Kathleen) Chiacchierini, Carl (Constance) Chiacchierini, Barbara (nee Munch) Chiacchierini, Rose Marie Franzese, Barbara Mold, Vincent Spallone, Rosalee Brack, Teresa Anderson, Nata Brunozzi, Grace D'Aloisio, AJ Spallone and Lorraine Ostrander; and many other great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Molly was predeceased by her husband, Dominick J. Richardson in 1983; son, Don J. Richardson in 1988; and her nine sisters and brothers. Friends and family may call from 10am to 11am on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Link at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11am at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Watkins Glen.
