Sharing a poem about Dad. Duffy
My Dad, my hero
Gentle and kind, always there, always there.
He taught me how to play ball, but way more than that,
he was in the stands when I came to bat.
He liked fishing the best, and my brother did too.
He’d let me swim to an island to have something to do.
Or tie a rope to me to and let me dive down
to loosen the anchor. That made me feel so proud.
He was addiction’s greatest foe.
He beat tobacco. No telling how hard that could be.
He joined A.A. Stepped out on faith and then he was free.
Parkinson's daily decline, never affected my dad’s piece of mind.
I wouldn't have known what a challenge that was,
until Mom found a poem he wrote
and must have left for us. His poem read,
“There is no quick resolution to lethargy
It may be compared to laziness or lack of zeal.
Erase these frightful thoughts.
Live with a smile for each new day.”
My Dad, my hero, always had something good to say.
Dear Theresa, Leonard, Duffy and family. I just learned of Kenny's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was always smiling and so kind. I admired his calm demeanor. Family is a precious thing. May your memories and the God of all comfort bring you unending peace. Leeanne Osborn
Ken was such a great friend and family! He will always be in our memories. He was always kind and considerate to everyone! He will see his family’s and friends. Our thought and prayers you for your family . Chuck and Faith Ciprich . Florida
Theresa , Ken was always by your side in my memories of you two. You have always been a cheerful and loving person through and through. You sent us a book of his poetry and we both read it. What talent! It stays in our collection of "family things" . Rachel's too. As we remember our family and extended one, I don't feel sad as I know we we all be together again with the Lord in Heaven.
