Condolences
I am so sorry to have missed the calling hours yesterday. Roe & I have been home bound the past 2 weeks with various complications of the flue & COVID. Don was always one of my favorite Cousins. He was a gentle giant. Always a friend, never thought he was better than anyone else. So sad in these times of isolation we lose track of our family & friends and there illnesses. My heart felt sympathy to the Romeo Family. God Bless
Don stopped by one day to check my progress on an engine build project. "I'l be back in 15 minutes", he said.
He returned in 15 minutes with a handful of special "technical" tools and proceeded to show me the right way to
"dial-indicate" the cam shaft and the timing ! He was always there to share his knowledge. Rest in Peace Don.
To Karen, Sandy, Bonnie, and all of Don's family and friends, I'm very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Don very well, but I'm very glad that I got to know him a little in recent years. I would see and chat with him at local sporting events, as we both would be taking photos, or just taking in the game. He always seemed happy to see me and could not have been nicer. He was a genuinely nice guy, and he will surely be missed.
.Don & Tony`s green Vet's at Ciprich's garange hooked me on racing for many years. So sorry I was not able to see Don before his passing..RIP my friend. You will be missed.
To All of Don's family and friends, sending sincere condolences, caring thoughts and prayers to all of you now and the days ahead. God Bless.
Karen, Sandy, Bonnie, other family and friends - I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Don. Don and I spent many years working together at Shepard Niles where he had an exceptional talent for mechanical and structural design. Don had a beer with me on the first day I joined the "old" Mechanics Club in 1976. We shared an interest in cars and I recall coming over to Don's garage to see several engine build projects. There are so many memories over the years. I am very saddened and he will be missed deeply. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Chris Haesloop (Ithaca)
Prayers to Don's family, We were all friends many years ago I remember him back when we were all Montour kid's and Mom was our school nurse and Dad was the shoe repair man. Many years have passed since then'
Don reminds me of his Dad with smoking that cigar! May he Rest In Peace , Cheryl Routh {Getman}
